A quick snowshoe up and ski down Mt. Taylor, near Grants, NM with my friend, Adam White. Skiing Taylor was on my life list, so "check!" The snow was so wind scrubbed, however, that skiing was extremely challenging due to wind/sun crust and many rocks and grass poking through. Despite that, I was able to ski from the summit, to the tailgate of my truck, suffering only one major core-shot to the skis. Adam eventually gave up on skiing, however, and walked the rest of the way down. Was it worth it? Yes! Would I ski it again, probably not.
