First ski for Winter of 2007 - Matthew
DESCRIPTION: Quick run up the Alpental ski area, skinning up, and skiing down in 3 feet of power
PEAK ELEVATION: 2000' / 610m
DATE: 12/3/2007
Its snowed 36 inches in the last 4 days, and Alpental is still not yet ready to open. Left for the summit at 6:30am, and ran into the state patrol, requiring 4 wheel drive to go up on the pass. The parking lot was empty, and had not been plowed for weeks. Mark and I (Matthew) skinned up to the bottom of the Upper international hill, and then came down. The breaking of trail was difficult with 3 feet plus of heavy powder. Coming down was even harder. Great training for the beginning of the season.
